So I decided to bite the bullet and try an actual blog with writing as well as pictures.
So to start I am currently doing a cross stitch of a Jack Russell and thought I would document the process via this blog and any cross stitchs I do in the future.

This is what the finished product should look like:

And the first image taken on 29th May 2010:

You can just about see the nose/face area starting to form.

Before I forget please do ignore the year on the archive dates its due to me editing the dates of the posts so they appear in the order I want them.
After a few days and a bit more stitching a little bit more form starts to show.

Now I know its not the best image due to the light behind the fabric but white thread on antique white aida doesn't help when taking a photo. You can start to see where the nose will be and if look more closely at the top where the eyes will roughly be.

This photo is much better than the previous due to more stitches on the aida. You can clearly see where the nose is going to be and also where the eyes will be. You can also start to see the neck and the chest of the dog forming.

On first look it doesn't look a whole lot different to the previous image however more of the white stitching has been done towards the bottom of the image. Those looking closely may see where I left half done stitch's from when my length of thread finished.

Only taken a few hours later but more stitching is clearly visible this time. Started to stitch in a second colour here the nose area is now more circle and the neck/chest is taking more shape.

Theres a clear change from the last photo. I'd started using a third colour by the time I took this photo which you should be able to pick out where its been used.
You may notice I altered how the aida is sat in the hoop, I moved it up somewhat so I could stitch all the way down to the bottom chart and move it back later to do the top part that currently not in the frame.

You can clearly see the form of the dog starting to take shape now, you can also start to get an idea of how large it will be when done.
Its been a week or so since I picked this cross stitch up to do some more stitching. Hopefully wont be too long before I will be posting another update.

Now you can see where the darker colours are filling in the gaps between the outer edges.

Been a while since I did some work on this so thought I best pick it up again, as you can see its starting to fill in a fair bit more.

Taken on 6th August 2010

As you can see the bottom of the image is now almost filled in and looks more like the front of a dog now. To see any following posts click Older Posts at the bottom.

Finished the very bottom of the design now I just need to open the frame and move it so I can stitch the top part.

After completing the bottom part of the design I altered where the frame was to be able to do the head and ears of the dog as well as the rest of the main body. Now you can see the rough outline of where the ears are.

Taken on the 10th August 2010

You can now clearly see the outline of the ears and the rest of the head.

Taken on the 11th August 2010

You can now clearly see the full outline of the design now all that is left is the do the last colours and the backstitching.

Its getting very clear on what it is now and no mistaking it for something with 3 ears as someone pointed out it looked like at one point. ^^
